Il commento Cupissimo film apocalittico senza speranza che descrive cosa fa l’umanità sapendo che ci sarà l’apocalisse. Funziona a metà: da un lato descrive i suicidi, le orge, l’impunità, dall’altro chi cerca la pace in un piccolo gesto o nello stare coi propri cari fino alla fine. Ma anche se a volte commuove, quello che più mi ha colpito è il silenzio, il vuoto, l’assenza di tutti, la rassegnazione generale, che il regista ha tenuto sullo sfondo, ritenendolo probabilmente poco interessante. Sbaglia.

Il commento Un bel legal thriller vaticano, pieno della fascinazione che hanno gli americani per i riti cattolici mescolato con certi meccanismi ben rodati; forse non del tutto imprevedibile (tranne il twist finale, quello proprio non me l’aspettavo!) Bel cast, tra cui un demoniaco Sergio Castellitto e un imperfetto Stanley Tucci. Non passa il test di Bechdel :)

Inizia in sordina, a un certo punto mi sembrava quasi The Room (vista l’ambientazione a San Francisco), ma cresce lentamente e ci sono un paio di buoni twist. Non indispensabile, ma ok. Chissà cosa vuol dire il titolo.

Il commento Mediocre commedia romantica a tema musical con viaggi nel tempo, tre cose diverse ognuna delle quali è fatta maluccio. Il gimmick del viaggio nel tempo è insensato, e se poteva funzionare come metafore, viene in qualche modo trasformato in realtà ma senza una logica coerente. Passabile finale, ma il film è noiosetto e mal realizzato.

Il commento Curiosamente con alcuni elementi simili a “The greatest hits”, visto lo stesso giorno, è però tutta un’altra cosa: una storia calda e commovente di coming of age che parte dallo spunto di incontrare il se stesso del futuro che dà consigli. Ma lo spunto è sfruttato molto bene e va anche in direzioni inaspettate. Audrey Plaza in qualche modo supervisiona, ma la sua parte è minuscola; bellissimi paesaggi.

Il commento Seguito ideale di “Searching” (anche citato) come “film di investigazione tutto in un computer”, presenta lo stesso difetto del suo predecessore di forzare un po’ troppo la presenza sullo schermo, ma spinge di più sull’intreccio e sui colpi di scena. La credibilità generale del tutto è bassa, ma è appassionante.

Il commento Film di Sorrentino poco conosciuto, presenta due vite parallele di uomini in difficoltà che a un certo punto, in modo inaspettato, si intrecciano. C’è molta umanità ed empatia in queste figure assai imperfette e autodistruttive (ognuna a modo suo) e anche se Servillo servilleggia un po’ troppo e c’è qualche scena onirica poco riuscita, l’impatto emotivo è notevole.

Il commento Il nuovo Almodovar mi è piaciuto molto, ma: a) l’ho visto in italiano, e il doppiaggio l’ha ammazzato male, soprattutto Julianne Moore b) non riesco a togliermi dalla testa che l’ambientazione americana abbia tolto qualcosa. Anche se la città e il bosco erano neutri e c’erano diversi spagnoli nel cast, trovo che se fosse stato in Spagna ci sarebbe stato più calore, più profondità. Ma forse è un preoconcetto da almodovariano. Gli si rimprovera inoltre una ricerca della perfezione formale che pur essendo splendida, si sta un po’ perdendo nel gelo. Però è davvero uno splendido e doloroso film.

Il commento Più action che horror, con un po’ di ultraviolenza anestetizzante stile the Boys, qualche spunto preso da What we do in the shadows, Reinfeld tutto sommato è un film di vampiri moderno con un buon ritmo e abbastanza divertente. Il discorso sugli “eroi” che prova a fare non è molto riuscito. Nicholas Cage, come sempre, si diverte un sacco a fare il matto.
